Ever wondered if there was a more efficient way to board an airplane? Jason Steffan from the University of Nevada did.
Steffan devised and tested a method of staggered boarding by row to maximize space, allowing passengers to “manipulate their luggage” and then promptly vacate the aisle. Basically, “anyone who is on the airplane needs to be doing something”. Hear an interview with Steffan on CBC Radio.
“I had been thinking about this problem for two or three years and decided that I needed to either satisfy my curiosity or forget about it.” – Jason Steffan
